DIY Bachelorette Party “Hangover Kits” with Essential Oils

My sister Colette’s bachelorette party was over the weekend in Greenport, New York, which is located on the North Fork of Long Island. For those of you unfamiliar to the area, the North Fork is considered Long Island’s “wine country” because it is home to over 30 vineyards!

Me and Colette

We rented the most charming house in the historic downtown area of Greenport. We were a short 10 minute walk to the center of town with the cutest shops, fabulous restaurants, bay beaches, the Long Island railroad, and a ferry to Shelter Island! {If you are ever looking for a place to stay in Greenport, I highly recommend the home we rented! Just send me a message, and I’ll put you in touch with the owner, Carol, who was accommodating, helpful, and a joy!} We arrived to the house Thursday afternoon, after a quick stop at the nearby Tanger Outlets, and were welcomed to freshly cut hydrangea arrangements in just about every room on the first floor. How sweet?! The home’s interior was inviting, comfortable, and coastal inspired.

To ensure every gal had the proper tools for the weekend ahead, I left a “Hangover Kit” with essential oils and other Young Living products by each of their bedsides. It included a “Hot Mess” roller for the ugliest hangover induced head tension; Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier; Young Living lip balm; and Seedlings Baby Wipes for makeup removal. The girls also loved DiGiZe for digestive support and the LavaDerm Cooling Mist after a day outdoors at the brewery!

“Hot Mess” roller: 4 drops Peppermint, 3 drops German Chamomile, 2 drops Lavender, 2 drops Copaiba, fill with FCO (fractionated coconut oil)

Lastly, here’s a quick re-cap of our weekend for those interested in Greenport:

+ Thursday: Dinner at American Beech. The atmosphere was straight out of a Serena + Lily catalog and the food was excellent too!

+ Friday: Beach {daytime activity}, tapas dinner at Noah’s (great for groups / delicious food!), drinks and dancing at Claudio’s.

+ Saturday: Greenport Harbor Brewery in Southold {daytime activity}, private chef dinner at the house. {If you are ever looking for a private chef, I highly recommend Abe at Thanks 4 Having Me! Abe listened to our dietary needs and restrictions, put together a flavorful menu, was personable and fun to be around, AND he drove all the way from Island Park, New York to Greenport (1.5 hours each way)

Course 1: Charred Caesar Wedge
Course 2 – Tandoori Chicken Bao Buns with Broccoli Slaw
Course 3: Blackened Mahi Mahi with Wild Rice, Green Beans + Mango Salsa

Overall, it was such a FUN weekend intimately celebrating the bride-to-be with her bridal party and closest girl gang!
